Auf über 15.000 Knüpfstühlen in und um Hamedan werden Teppiche hergestellt und das seit mehr als eintausend Jahren. In der Stadt selbst werden Teppiche in einer staatlichen Manufaktur geknüpft, in den privaten Knüpfereien werden bevorzugt kleine Formate geknüpft. Sehr gefragt sind in der heutigen Zeit semi-antike und antike Hamedan-Teppiche.
