The wool used to make a Mashad is very soft due to the landscape in and around Mashad. With warp and weft made of cotton, this creates very robust carpets. Most Mashad have a central medallion, the dominant colors are mostly red in the inner field and blue in the borders.

Die Wolle, die für die Herstellung eines Maschad verwendet wird, ist bedingt durch die Landschaft in und um Maschad sehr weich. Mit Kette und Schuss aus Baumwolle entstehen dadurch sehr robuste Teppiche. Meist haben Maschad ein zentrales Medaillon, die dominierenden Farben sind zumeist rot im Innenfeld und blau in den Bordüren.
