The design of Pakistani carpets is based on Turkmen (Mori carpets with Bukhara pattern), Caucasian (e.g. Kazak carpets are knotted in Pakistan, too) and older Persian carpets (Ziegler). The Pakistani government supports the native knotting factories by importing shiny wool from Australia.
