The German market for Oriental and Iranian rugs is once again attracting attention ahead of an important autumn auction.
Nagel Auktionen in Stuttgart will present Iranian and regional rugs alongside artworks and cultural objects from around the world in its upcoming Six Continents auction.
Nagel Auktionen will hold its 851st auction, Six Continents, on 15 October 2026 at its premises in Stuttgart. The auction begins at 10:00 a.m. and offers both advance bidding and participation in the live auction.
A preview of the lots will be available on 14 October 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., giving visitors an opportunity to examine the works before the auction.
Among the rugs offered in the sale are several examples from Iran and other important rug-producing regions. One of the notable pieces is a large Tabriz rug with an almost square format, listed in the catalogue as Lot 63.
The presence of Persian rugs in a major Stuttgart auction underlines the continuing place of Iranian weaving traditions within Germany’s international art and antiques market.
